Several groups of Chinese industry representatives are visiting the National RV Show in Louisville, KY from December 1st thru 3rd. The groups consist of more than 60 people representing RV manufacturers, RV importers, RV suppliers, automakers, campground developers, investors, and media. The groups’ visit reflects China’s strong interest in developing its RV and campground industry.

China’s fledgling RV and campground industries have made progress and gained growing attention in recent years. More and more businesses and investors in China see the market potential and want to get into the RV business. The visiting Chinese groups show their efforts in developing relationships with the U.S. RV industry. Some of them are interested in establishing production capability for the domestic market. Jiangling Auto, for example, is an auto maker which wants to expand into RVs. Some RV manufacturers, Kinglong Coach and Zhongou for example, are interested in improving their product offerings. Some campground operators want to purchase quality park models/trailers for rental business.

U.S. RV manufacturers and suppliers also show stronger interest in China. Many of them attended the reception hosted by RVIA in honor of the visiting Chinese delegations. They include Thor, Forest River, Jayco, Winnebago, Fleetwood, Monaco, Newmar, KZ-RV, Roadtrek, Cummins, United Shade, GE Capital, Velvac, B.J. Thompson & Associates, and Fabric Services. Representatives from ARVC also attended the reception.

As China’s RV industry grows, more Chinese attendees are expected at the National RV Show. U.S. manufacturers will see more and more opportunities brought by the visiting Chinese groups.
